Footage Firm is always interested in expanding its archive and is looking for professionally-shot stock
footage from 3rd parties. If you are interested in selling your
footage through Footage Firm, please read on:
What we are looking for:
Footage Firm provides a wide mix of stock footage, providing footage of cities,
countries and geographic locations, as well as hard to find
specialty/special interest footage.
Footage Firm is currently looking for
three types of footage:
(1) 30-60 minute reels of specific locations, domestic and
international, that we
don't current have in our archive.
(2) 30-60 minute reels of interesting
specialty footage with a particular niche. For example, our
firefighting, extreme fighting and extreme weather reels sell particularly
well because the footage is hard to find and captivating. What
doesn't sell well is generic footage of general topics such as
nature. Think of a specific niche that your footage might fit into,
and make sure you can provide 30-60 minutes.
(3) In addition to standard definition for
the first two, Footage Firm is also beginning to develop its high
definition offering an seeks HD or HDV footage for almost any subject.
Stock footage does not need to be shot specifically for Footage Firm,
and can be from past projects as long as you have copyright ownership of
the footage. You may also continue to use and sell the footage in
conjunction with sales through Footage Firm.
What we pay:
Footage Firm provides an even
50/50 revenue split for rights to sell third party stock footage. This works well
because it doesn’t cost the company money up front, and our partners get
paid based on sales, and maintain complete ownership of the footage.
Depending on the demand for your footage, you could receive a few hundred
dollars in residuals per week, possibly more depending on the popularity
of your reel.
You will maintain all ownership rights to the footage and Footage Firm will
simply have sales rights. It is a non exclusive agreement and you can
continue to market, sell and use the footage in any way you like while we
are selling it. At any point you can terminate the contract and ask us to
stop selling the footage. You and/or your company will also be given
shooting credit for the footage on our site and on the product itself.
How to proceed:
If you are interested in selling some of your
footage through Footage Firm, first contact Joel Holland (joel@footagefirm.com)
to discuss reel topics. He will then request a demo reel that
showcases some of your work to analyze the quality, shot composition,
etc. This demo reel can be mailed to us on a VHS or DVD, or emailed
as a digital file such as a QuickTime or AVI.
Once we are satisfied with your demo reel and footage topics, we will send over a
sales agreement that outlines the sales and commission terms. Once the
agreement has been signed by both of us, you will send an uncompressed
version of the footage and we will capture, tag and begin marketing it.
